This is my 1st post on my blog which terrifying as well as invigorating for me.
A bit about me for those of you that care.
I'm still currently in high school which I love, and to those of you who have no knowledge of high school for some reason, it is not full of emos, bitches and nerds. It actually has some pretty awesome and normal people. (I happen to be the loved pervert of the year.)
I have no idea what age I got so interested in the whole sexual aspect of life, but I am (extremely.)

To the surprise of most people in my school, I still haven't kissed a guy yet (specifying "male" there), and yet because of my highly openly sexual nature people assume I have.
So after that small introduction of me -probably not the most intersting thing you've read, but maybe you were interested- let us start on the real topic of this post.
The female sexually linked thing called a hymen. For those of you who know what that is, high-five yourself and stare around the room proudly. If you don't know what it is, I'll include a diagram of what it is and I will also explain it.
This beautiful diagram is of the female sexy parts, as I like to call them. So the part labelled the hymen is... the hymen.
MYTH BUST 1:
* The hymen is not a thin layer deep inside your vagina, it is a thin piece of stretched out skin near the enterance.
* When I was younger I was always so confused about the whole concept of the hymen in the vagina, and wondered if it was see-through or if you could see it if you looked for it hard enough. If you were to open the labia of your lady parts then it would stare at you in the faces almost shouting "I AM A HYMEN!".
Anyway, weird imagery aside...
MYTH BUST 2: (Popping your cherry)
- This is yet anothet thing that should be essential to teach in school and yet I only found out about this through my own research.
- The general public has this HUGE incorrect thought that the first time you have sexual intercourse, you break your hymen. This is complete b.s. The hymen already has a small hole in it where the penis (or sex toy) (or fingers) (or any other object realistically) enters.
- When something does enter the vagina it just strectches the hole that is already there, which is why if you've never stretched it out, it hurts and can tear which causes the occasional bleeding.
- This hole -if "used" often- does stretch over time, but it mostly bounces back to place if it hasn't been used for a while, which is why even if you've had sex before, having sex after several months of years is almost as painful or difficult as the 1st time.
There is a lot more I could say on this topic, but those are the 2 main missunderstandings the poor vaginal area experiences.
